In February 2014 the Board decided to support the Hand to Hand Foundation. This is a Day Care Centre near Big C South, but it is far more than a Day Care Centre.
They visit prisons and hospitals and Margaret Grainger and Khun Pia are heavily involved with ECPAT, the Child Protection Agency.

She arranged the donation of Mosquito Nets and Blankets, also organized the work done on Mr. Ta Auan’s home and finally located the two little boys living at ATTC. The Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya visited Phanat Nikhom on Tuesday 29th October 2013 to see the damage caused by the recent flood, where the town centre roads were waist deep in floodwater. The main reason for the visit was to deliver 100 Water Drip Filters to families whose houses had been under a metre or more during the floods in Phanat Nikhom.

Micro Loan to Thai Village (Follow-up report 2014

Follow-up - RCJP sponsoring Baaan Kok Klang Noi village

In 2008 the Rotary Club Jomtien-Pattaya joined the  Pattaya City Ex-Pats Club in giving a micro load to the  Baan Kok Klang No village near Buriram.  The Population and Community Development Association (PDA) had selected the village and was organising the project.

Baan Klong Chon School

Another poor school, about half an hour away from Baan Sub Kasem School.  This is a special school not under the Ministry of Education, but administered and funded by the Border Control Police (All teachers are Policemen)

The School comprises:

  • 83 Students (Half are kindergarten)
  • 6 Teachers who are Policemen
  • A Lunch supplement program, with their fish pond and vegetable farm

Baan Sub Kasem School

Baan Sub Kasem School

This remote school is located in T. Wung Thong, A. Wung Somboon, a far reached corner of Sra Kaew Province, near the borners of Chantaburi and Chachensao

The School comprises:

  • 52 Students (Kindergarten to 6th grade). There used to be over 140 students back in 1997, but later dropped down due to enforcement of the reserved forests nearby (where homesteaders were force out from the area).
  • 4 Teachers
  • A Lunch supplement program, with their fish pond and vegetable farm

We handed over our Donations on Childrens Day, 14-JAN-2014, at their fun event

Safe Water for Children

Safe Water for Children

Kenneth Thomson has been a benefactor to the club for several years, helping with donations to our Safe Water for Children Projects. This year he has donated 2000 pounds sterling (100,000 baht).

Last October our committee decided to donate 100,000 baht’s worth of gravity filters to flood victims at Panat Nikom.

At the hand over, PP Brendan Kelly wrote: I was really shocked when I saw the extent of the devastation.
